Volunteer opportunities
If you are looking to give back to the game, here are some of the ways that you can serve.
Board of Directors
The SDGA Board focuses on our Championships and growing membership. The Junior Golf Foundation Board focuses on fundraising and junior golf, including scholarships and First Tee — South Dakota. Review the Board Expectations and complete the application.
Rules of Golf
We need qualified rules officials at SDGA events, USGA qualifiers, SD High School Championships and more. Qualified officials may become eligible to officiate at USGA Championships. Contact Tom Jansa at tom@sdga.org.

Course Rating™
Our Course Rating team — an SDGA staff member and trained volunteers — rates 10–15 courses a year using the USGA Course Rating System. If you have a knack for data and like to travel, contact Joel McCartney at joel@sdga.org.
Championships
You don’t need to be a rules expert. We always need volunteers for player relations and to monitor play — it’s fun to be “inside the ropes.” Contact Dean Zahn at dean@sdga.org.

A rewarding experience with young golfers. Programs in Sioux Falls, Aberdeen, Rapid City, Brookings and Dell Rapids — help bring First Tee to your community. Contact Kelli@firstteesouthdakota.org.
